Plastic conveyor belts are differentiated from other conveyor belts as plastic materials are found on their surface. Most notably, the most widely used plastic polymer composites are flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polyurethane (PU). Due to their composition they are use by many industries.

In addition to the food industries, where specialty belts are certified according to the EEC and FDA / USDA standards, the plastic conveyor belts prove to be useful in industrial and craft industries, such as marble processing, paper processing, textiles, tobacco, pottery, airports, post offices and more.
